DO I NEED COUNCIL APPROVAL FOR MY TINY HOUSE?
Our Tiny Homes are built on registered trailers, and do not require council approval. Caravans do not require DA approvals, but councils can limit the amount of time someone can permanently live in one. This ruling may vary from Council to Council and State to State. We strongly recommend contacting your local council for further information and current regulations.
In NSW, the state legislation states that a caravan can be used as a home, provided that the person using the caravan is a member of the property owner's family.

HOW DO I CONNECT TO ELECTRICITY?
Our standard tiny houses run on a 15amp mains power with a switchboard. The tiny house can be plugged in using an electrical power lead just like a traditional caravan. A solar system can also be installed at an additional cost or this can be added at a later stage.
All Havenwood Tiny Homes come “Solar Ready” - giving you the option of beginning in an off-grid capacity and converting to power and sewer if and when it becomes available on your site.
HOW DO I CONNECT TO WATER?
Just like a conventional caravan, our tiny houses come with a standard garden hose plug connection. Our homes are also fitted with gutters that is included within the base prices for our models.
We also offer rainwater storage tanks at an additional cost allowing you to go off grid.
HOW DO I CONNECT TO GAS? WHAT GAS TYPE?
All our homes have a dual gas regulator that takes 2x LPG gas bottles as standard. You can use either a 9L barbecue gas bottle or even the tall long 40L bottles. Connection can be done by anyone, just like connecting the gas bottle to a barbecue.
DO YOU OFFER OFF GRID SOLUTIONS?
Yes. We offer full off grid solar system packages, a variety of composting toilet options, gas water heating system and gas appliances, rainwater storage tanks, pumps and water filters.
ARE THE TINY HOUSES INSULATED? WHAT TYPE OF INSULATION DO YOU USE?
Yes, all our Tiny Houses are insulated beautifully, as we use refrigerated panelling in our frames and roof, which is used widely in coolrooms to create ambient temperatures all year round.
CAN I CONNECT TO SEWER MAINS? WHAT OTHER OPTION DO I HAVE IF I CAN`T OR DON`T WANT TO CONNECT TO SEWER?
All of our tiny homes have compost toilets included in the base price. We can install a flushing toilet, however it is the customers responsibility to obtain the services of a qualified plumber to connect to sewage or septic tank
DO COMPOSTING TOILETS SMELL?
Composting toilets nowadays are very complex and effective systems and with minimal maintenance will not cause odours and are very efficient systems for an off-grid situation.
HOW MUCH DOES A HAVENWOOD TINY HOME COST?
Our homes are constructed with the utmost quality in respect to cost, materials and energy. There are upgrade factors that can increase the investment options, but base model prices start from $79 000 for a finished & registered home.
DO YOU OFFER DELIVERY?
Delivery is an additional cost but can be done by us or another towing company Australia wide. Our in-house delivery fee is $2.80/km each way from our factory located in Albion Park Rail, NSW 2527.
